Trained as an evolutionary biologist at the University of California, San Diego, Hikaru’s approach to “adaptive marketing” has helped leading marketers leverage hypothesis testing, experimental design and optimization based on Nobel Prize winning Choice Modeling theory. Hikaru’s experience in the field spans marketing software development and integration, as well as the delivery of specialized consulting services on Choice Modeling and marketing best practices.
Hikaru founded Memetrics in 1999 with University of Sydney Professor Jordan Louviere, a widely published pioneer in the development of Choice Modeling-based marketing applications. The company’s first commercial engagement involved the development of a custom Choice Modeling application for the Australian Defense Forces focused on retraining personnel across key military services.
To date, Hikaru has helped companies like eBay, Shopzilla, American Express and IAG develop and deploy enterprise-level interactive marketing technology and best practices. Prior to Memetrics, Hikaru founded an electronics publishing and Internet gaming services company, Prize Central Networks, which was sold to Vivendi in 1998. Today, Hikaru is a member of the Memetrics Board of Directors and serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer.
