Chris Sherman is Executive Editor of SearchEngineLand.com and President of Searchwise LLC, a Boulder Colorado based Web consulting firm.

With over 25 years experience in interactive technologies, he is frequently quoted in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Business Week, USA Today and other publications, and has appeared on CNN, NPR, CBS and other television and radio networks.

Chris is a Web Search University faculty member, and is an honorary inductee of the Internet Librarian Hall of Fame. He is the author of “Google Power: Unleash the Full Power of Google” from McGraw-Hill. His previous books include “The Invisible Web: Uncovering Information Sources Search Engines Can’t See” (with Gary Price) from CyberAge Books; The McGraw-Hill CD ROM Handbook, and The Elements of Basic, The Elements of Cobol and The Elements of Pascal from John Wiley & Sons.

Chris has written about search and search engines since 1994. His clients have included International Data Corporation, Accenture, Motorola, Levi-Strauss, Nokia, Ortho Biotech, Porsche, United Technologies, and the Scripps Clinic. From 2001 through 2006, Chris was Executive Editor of SearchEngineWatch.com and Conference Chair of the international Search Engine Strategies events in Canada, China, France, Italy, Sweden and the U.K. From 1998 to 2001, he was the Web Search Guide for About.com.

Chris holds a master’s degree in Interactive Educational Technology from Stanford University and a bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts and Communications from the University of California, San Diego. Scottie Claiborne is the facilitator of the Successful Sites Newsletter. She is a speaker at the Search Engine Strategies conferences and the High Rankings Seminars as well as the administrator of the High Rankings Forum.

Scottie is a web specialist who focuses on the overall optimization of a web site. While many professionals in the web industry specialize and focus on improving certain aspects of a web site, Scottie starts with identifying the goals and target audience for a site, then working to match the look, the voice, the message, the technology, and the traffic to those goals. Her expertise can assist firms at any stage of web site development, from planning a new site to remodeling an under performing site.

Scottie has been doing web work since 1998, starting with developing corporate intranets and then moving on to developing and managing an online content management system for Levity Technologies, Inc. as Vice President of Product Development. She started Right Click Web Consulting in 2001 with the vision of helping businesses to understand and maximize the potential of the web. She also produces a website usability and marketing newsletter called Successful Sites.

Her previous experience as a retail buyer helps her to merge traditional selling and marketing concepts with the unlimited possibilities that the Internet has to offer. Her creative solutions for businesses are based on real-world research and experience.

Since Right Click Web Consulting was launched, Scottie has helped numerous Internet-only and bricks-and-mortar businesses to succeed online, as well as helping larger businesses to effectively use the web to reduce costs and save both time and money.

At Decide, Paul oversaw search marketing strategies for some of the world’s largest companies, growing the business internationally, with offices in Sydney, London and San Francisco. In August 2004, Decide Interactive was sold to the NASDAQ listed, 24/7 Real Media.

Ian Leuchars joined 24/7 Real Media as the General Manager, Australia in September 2004 & was recently appointed SVP Search, North America for 24/7 Real Media a position that will is based in New York, Ian will be resonsible for both the US & Canada.

Ian has a solid background in Online Media and IT with over 18 years experience in the Australian industry. Ian came to 24/7 Real Media from Orion Ventures, a technology specialist corporate advisory practice, where he was responsible for providing clients with strategic advice on strategy, finance, capital raising and acquisitions. Prior to Orion Ventures, Ian was on the Executive leadership team of Sensis Pty Ltd.

During his five years at Sensis he was responsible for the strategy and operations of Australia’s largest online publishing business. Ian’s responsibilities included running some of the country’s largest sites, Whitepages.com.au, Yellowpages.com.au, Whereis.com.au, Goeureka and Altavista, as well as playing a key role in the transition of a stagnant billion dollar a year print business into a growing online enterprise. Ian was appointed as Managing Director, Australia at 24/7 Real Media in February 2006.

Trained as an evolutionary biologist at the University of California, San Diego, Hikaru’s approach to “adaptive marketing” has helped leading marketers leverage hypothesis testing, experimental design and optimization based on Nobel Prize winning Choice Modeling theory. Hikaru’s experience in the field spans marketing software development and integration, as well as the delivery of specialized consulting services on Choice Modeling and marketing best practices.

Hikaru founded Memetrics in 1999 with University of Sydney Professor Jordan Louviere, a widely published pioneer in the development of Choice Modeling-based marketing applications. The company’s first commercial engagement involved the development of a custom Choice Modeling application for the Australian Defense Forces focused on retraining personnel across key military services.

To date, Hikaru has helped companies like eBay, Shopzilla, American Express and IAG develop and deploy enterprise-level interactive marketing technology and best practices. Prior to Memetrics, Hikaru founded an electronics publishing and Internet gaming services company, Prize Central Networks, which was sold to Vivendi in 1998. Massimo Burgio is a well-known expert on international online business topics, and a frequent speaker at the Search Engine Strategies Conferences, both in Europe and the United States.

Massimo is a proud founding member of the Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO), where he co-Chairs the Global Committee, Chairs the Sempo Latino Working Group, and volunteers within the SEMPO Europe Working Group. Massimo is also an active member of the Internet Marketing Group at WebGuild, the Silicon Valley-based Forum for Internet Professionals, where he coordinates, moderates and speak about search/interactive topics also at the events organized by WebGuild.
